Jana Petersen is now helming the county, which has a $1.66 billion dollar budget and more than 4400 employees.

One proposal calls for banning new development, while a second calls for a phaseout of existing operations.

The idea is to bring salaries in line with similar posts in other counties. But, the size of the proposed hike is generating some oppostion.
