This year’s theme "Wild is the Night" lineup brings together stories of discovery, connection, and the unexpected from wild adventures and larger-than-life journeys to moments of transformation that change us forever. Across each film, we’re reminded that when we step beyond the familiar and into the unknown, we open ourselves to wonder, possibility, and the kind of magic that can only be found after dark. You can bring friends and family to mingle, to picnic, to meet the filmmakers from the films screening; and to make meaningful summer, the screening schedule includes the following films:

This year's lineup leans into the power of the tribute act — performers who have spent years perfecting the sound, energy and theatrics of some of the most iconic artists in music history. Attendees are invited to explore culinary offerings from the various eateries at The Collection before claiming a spot on the lawn with a chair or blanket and settling in with family and friends.

Rock the Collection is presented by Ventura County Credit Union. All concerts are FREE and take place from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Collection Park.

The beloved Malibu Chili Cook-Off® returns Labor Day Weekend for four days of chili, live music, family entertainment and community celebration. Presented by Aviator Nation with 100% of net proceeds benefiting Boys & Girls Club of Malibu, the event features the legendary chili competition, carnival rides, skate competition, local food vendors and the debut of the new Aviator Nation Dreamland Stage with live entertainment throughout the weekend.

After a one-year hiatus following the devastating Southern California wildfires, the event returns as a celebration of resilience and community connection. Guests can sample chili, cast their vote for the People’s Choice Award and enjoy activities for all ages. Returning award-winning chili vendors include Duke’s Malibu, Irv’s Burgers and Pickles & Peas. New to the chili vendor lineup are Tacos 1986, Dreamland Chili and Clark’s Malibu Oyster Bar, with more to be announced leading up to the event.

Since our founding in 1932, collecting and preserving the material and written history of the Santa Barbara area has been at the core of our institution’s purpose and that task is on-going to this day. Every year the Historical Museum adds to the ever-growing collections to better illuminate and share this rich history.
This exhibition highlights just some of the gifts we have added in recent years thanks to the generosity of our community.

Eva Scow is an American mandolinist and violinist from Fresno, California. She began studying music at a young age, starting on the piano and violin at age 4, and later adding the mandolin at age 8. Growing up she played in Classical orchestras and bands, exploring different kinds of music from Bluegrass to Brazilian Jazz. She began playing professionally in high school, collaborating with different musicians/bands around the country.

At age 15 she recorded for mandolin pioneer David Grisman on his album ‘Tone Poets’. She was selected to perform at Carnegie Hall in 2006 for a Young Artist Spotlight alongside bassist Edgar Meyer. She recorded her debut album with guitarist Dusty Brough entitled ‘Sharon by the Sea’ (Adventure Music) in 2007. The album features influences, from Flamenco, Jazz, and Brazilian folk music. That same year she also recorded with jazz guitarist Anthony Wilson for his album ‘Power of Nine’ (2007). Eva has performed at the International Festival du Mandoline in Lunel, France (2010). She toured alongside country pop duo Attwater, opening up shows for Willie Nelson (2011). Eva has opened concerts for artists Poncho Sanchez, Lee Ritenour, and JJ Cale. She has recorded on numerous projects, ranging in styles from R&B, Country, Pop, and Jazz. Eva also teaches string orchestra and jazz education at the middle school level in Fresno, CA. Eva is a member of the contemporary jazz quartet Espacio, and the progressive funk group The Experience. She continues to play in numerous groups across California as a side-person, equally at home in the classical, folk and jazz idioms.
