The Santa Barbara waterfront area on State Street from the railroad tracks to Stearns Wharf has for weeks been under construction, for the La Entrada Hotel and retail project, which has just concluded.
With that comes more improvements to the street, curbs, sidewalk and bike lanes.
One lane from Cabrillo Boulevard towards downtown has been closed for work crews, trucks and cranes to do the work, and today it reopens.
That will clear the way for pedestrians, crowds and shuttle buses.
It comes at a time when thousands are expected to be in the area for the 4th of July waterfront day long live music entertainment show and 20 minute firework show at night.
