Number Of Coronavirus Cases On Central, South Coasts Approaches Three Thousand Mark

The number of diagnosed coronavirus cases on the Central and South Coasts is now approaching the three thousand mark.

The total for the region is 2965.

Ventura County has 1062 cases, Santa Barbara County 1636, and San Luis Obispo County 267.  About two thirds of Santa Barbara County’s cases are linked to the federal prison in Lompoc. 

The death toll stands at 46, with 32 in Ventura County, 13 in Santa Barbara County and one in San Luis Obispo County.  Most of the deaths were older adults with preexisting health conditions.
