The strong Santa Ana wind conditions which brought high brush fire danger to the Central and South Coasts are easing Friday night. While Los Angeles County had some major wind driven blazes, the Central and South Coasts had only had a handful of small fires on the South Coast which were quickly controlled.
A Red Flag Warning for high brush fire danger in Ventura, and Los Angeles Counties is set to expire Friday night. We could still see wind into Saturday afternoon, but it’s predicted to be below warning levels, in the 15 to 30 mile an hour range.
The marine layer will start to return Saturday to parts of the region, leading to major cooling, especially for Sunday.
But, there’s the possibility of another round of Santa Ana winds Sunday night into Tuesday, once again focused on Ventura and Los Angeles Counties.
