Ventura County Reaches Settlement With Gas Station Operator Over Environmental Violation Claims

Ventura County prosecutors say they’ve reached a $100,000 settlement with the owners of some gas stations which failed to meet guidelines for the safe operation of underground storage tanks.

Prosecutors say the issues were with three gas stations in Thousand Oaks and Newbury Park owned by 4JR Enterprises.

They say the problems ranged from failure to maintain proper operating permits to intentionally disabling an alarm system.

The settlement requires the company to comply with all safety regulations and laws.  4JR also has to pay $100,000 for fines, along with reimbursing the investigation costs.
