More than two weeks after Election Day, we still don’t know the final results of a hotly contested congressional race for a district serving parts of Ventura and Los Angeles Counties.

Republican Mike Garcia has 50.1% of the vote to Christy Smith’s 49.9% for the 25th District Congressional seat.  The latest count gives Garcia a 422 vote lead.

Thousands of votes in the two counties have yet to be counted.

The district includes part of eastern Ventura County, as well as a portion of Los Angeles County.
