Investigators are trying to determine the cause of a brush fire which threatened some structures before being brought under control in eastern Ventura County.

The Potrero fire started in the hills outside of Newbury Park Friday afternoon.

Ventura County firefighters aided by helicopters and air tankers stopped the spread of the blaze in about two hours, and had it contained by about 10 Friday night.  Crews were on the scene overnight Friday into Saturday doing mopup work.

No structures were damaged.
