Central Coast Celebrates Drive-Through Christmas In The Country

Elks Recreation

It’s being billed as a COVID-safe Christmas spectacular on the Central Coast.

Elks Rodeo in Santa Maria– which has been closed this year because of the coronavirus pandemic – has teamed up with City of Santa Maria Recreation and Parks Department to create a drive-through ‘Christmas in The Country’, featuring real-life camels.

Visitors will embark on a drive through magical holiday light experience at the Elks Event Center with displays presented by local businesses and families.

Organizer Johnna Clark told KCLU News that while the rodeo, which would usually occupy the site, is closed, they have worked hard to find ways to bring the community together...while staying physically apart.

She says they have been working hard to continue to provide family entertainment on the Central Coast through an outlet that meets the guidelines of public safety while celebrating the community spirit.

The first Annual “Christmas in the Country” takes place at the Elks Event Center located at 4040 S Hwy 101 in Santa Maria and tickets are available here
