Central Coast Libraries Introduce New 'Grab and Go' Service Amid Pandemic

City of Santa Maria

Libraries across the Central and South Coasts, are finding ways to offer their services during the pandemic.

The City of Santa Maria has introduced a ‘Grab and Go’ service at their branches in Los Alamos, Orcutt, Guadalupe, and Cuyama.

When the very fabric of your business is sharing, being able to operate during the pandemic is a particular issue.

Joanne Britton, from the City of Santa Maria Public Library says that their new Grab and Go service is a small but important step towards getting their facilities back open.

"Patrons can come to the library for 20 minutes...we are also providing hand santizing stations so they can be safe."

Only four people can enter the building at any one time, and they’re limited to 20 minutes. The Grab and Go service is at four branches and the Bookmobile.
