Ventura County Beaches Open With Limited Access; No Sunbathing, Sitting, Or Beach Chairs

Ventura's Marina Beach

The hot weather means many people are thinking about going to beaches this weekend.  But, there are a number of restrictions on Central and South Coast beaches, and parks intended to help stop the spread of coronavirus.

In Ventura County, beaches are open for walking, running, swimming and surfing.  But, you can’t sit or sunbathe on beaches in the county.

Santa Barbara County beaches are open, but you must follow social distancing.  In both counties, most parks are open.  But, things like volleyball, basketball, and soccer areas are closed, as are dog parks.

Officials in both counties say they will have extra law enforcement officer out to enforce the rules, and if beaches get too crowded, they will be completely closed.
