If you have lost your job or been forced to work fewer hours because of COVID-19, then a new “Back To Work” training program in our area, could be for you.

The free training program is designed to help unemployed Santa Barbara County community members secure employment.

Luz Reyes-Martin, Executive Director of Public Affairs and Communications at Santa Barbara City College, explained that they are starting the program with training for 'Green Gardener,' 'Personal Care Attendant,' and 'Construction Technology,' before expanding to other areas.

A financial grant is also available to those who qualify, Reyes-Martin told KCLU.

Details of the program are on SBCC.edu

Caroline joined KCLU in October 2020. She won LA Press Club's Audio Journalist of the Year Award in 2022 and 2023.

Since joining the station she's won 7 Golden Mike Awards, 4 Los Angeles Press Club Awards and 2 National Arts & Entertainment Awards.
