Coronavirus Related Death Toll Hits 49 On Central, South Coasts; More Than 3100 Diagnosed Cases

The number of confirmed coronavirus cases on the Central and South Coasts now tops the 3100 mark.

There are now 3,139 documented cases reported in the region. 

Ventura County has 1,164, Santa Barbara County 1,697, and San Luis Obispo County 278.  About two thirds of Santa Barbara County’s cases are linked to the federal prison complex in Lompoc. 

There have been 49 coronavirus related deaths in the region, ranging from people in their 20s to a person who was 99 years old.  Most of the deaths involved older adults with preexisting health conditions.

Ventura County has had 34 deaths, Santa Barbara County has had 14, and there’s been one death reported in San Luis Obispo County.
