Falling Tree Hits Ventura County Apartment Complex; 10 Units Damaged

(Ventura County Fire Department photo)
A Santa Paula apartment complex was damaged by a tree knocked down by high wind Tuesday.

The strong wind hitting the Central and South Coasts has toppled a number of trees. One of them went down and heavily damaged a Ventura County apartment complex.

The tree fell on a two-story building on Santa Barbara Street in Santa Paula.

Ventura County firefighters say four units were so badly damaged that the residents can’t stay in their homes.  Residents are only being allowed to make limited entry into six other units.
