A brush fire is burning in the Santa Clara River bed Tuesday morning

Ventura County firefighters are getting the upper hand on a brush fire burning in a riverbed near the border of Ventura and Oxnard.

The Olivas Fire in the Santa Clara River bed was discovered at around 9:30 Tuesday morning.  Strong wind quickly helped the fire grow.  But, there are no homes being threatened in the immediate area.

About three to four acres of brush burned, with the potential for it to grow to ten acres before it's fully contained.

There's no word yet on the cause of the fire.
