Online Forum Set To Look At Plans For New Amazon Warehouse Facility On South Coast

The announcement earlier this year that Amazon would open a new order fulfillment facility in Ventura County created some excitement.  The complex off of Highway 101 near Rice Avenue is expected to create 1500 jobs when it opens late next year.

But, will they be well-paid jobs?  And will the facility create environmental problems?

An advocacy group which represents the interests of low income workers in the region is sponsoring an online event Wednesday night to look at Amazon’s record in other communities.

You can find a link to the Central Coast Alliance United For A Sustainable Economy event here: www.facebook.com/cause805.  It will be streamed live beginning at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
