Authorities say an autopsy confirms that an actress who disappeared in a Ventura County lake last week drowned.
The body of Naya Rivera was recovered Monday in Lake Piru. Rivera had taken her four-year-old son to Lake Piru last Wednesday to go swimming, where she had rented a boat. Her son was later found asleep in the boat, and she was missing.
The body recovered Monday was tentatively identified as that of the 33-year-old actress. The Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed her identity Tuesday, and officials say an autopsy showed that the findings were consistent with an accidental drowning.
Rivera was best known as one of the stars of the TV show “Glee,” but also appeared in a number of other series like “The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air” and “Baywatch.”
