State Reports It Has Shipped 3.3 Million Masks To First Responders On Central, South Coasts

State officials say are stepping up to try to insure those on the front lines against coronavirus on the Central and South Coasts are getting the protective masks they need.

The State Office of Emergency Services reports it’s now shipped 76 million N95 masks to first responders across the state, including more than 3.3 million to the Central and South Coasts.

Ventura County has received 1.7 million masks, Santa Barbara County 1.3 million and San Luis Obispo County 312,000. 

The biggest recipient statewide is Los Angeles County, which has received nearly 18.3 million masks.  California signed a billion dollar deal with a Chinese company to make masks for the state.  They were in critically short supply during the early days of the pandemic.
