Number Of Diagnosed Coronavirus Cases On Central, South Coasts Now Tops 8200; Death Toll At 81

The number of diagnosed coronavirus cases tops the 8200 mark on the Central and South Coasts.

The total number for the region is 8209 cases.  Ventura County is at 3789.  Santa Barbara County reached 3655, reporting 171 additional cases Monday.  And, San Luis Obispo County is at 765 cases.

Most of those diagnosed with coronavirus have already recovered.  About a thousand of Santa Barbara County’s cases are linked to the federal prison complex in Lompoc.  Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties on a state watch list for not meeting all of the guidelines for safe reopening.

There have been 81 coronavirus related deaths in the region.  Ventura County had three additional deaths, bringing its total to 50.  Santa Barbara County had 29, and San Luis Obispo County two.  Most of the deaths involved older people with pre-existing health conditions.
