A number of law enforcement agencies on the Central and South Coasts sent officers to Southern California to help with the weekend riots.
In our region, there were a number of demonstrations over the death of George Floyd at the hands of police in Minneapolis, but no major problems were reported.
Cars honked their horns in support as protesters waved, and held up signs at the intersection of Hillcrest Drive and Lynn Road, in Thousand Oaks. The signs were painted with “I can’t breathe," the words George Floyd as he was dying.
Demonstrator Tim Campbell says it's time to speak up. Rachel Deldoso organized the rally.
She says she put it together because black people are dying in our streets, and we need to stand up and call one our community to stand against racism.
