The coronavirus crisis is leaving thousands of Central and South Coasts residents unemployed, and pushing many into the job market.
A Central Coast college is trying to help, with a number of tuition-free online summer classes focusing on topics like resume writing and computer skills.
Santa Maria’s Allan Hancock College is launching a new Career Academy.
The academy will offer a number of tuition-free short term online summer courses designed to help jobseekers find and get a job.
The courses range from two days to eight weeks in duration, and cover topics like Microsoft Office skills, website development, and how to start a business.
There are also some more specialized classes available for a fee, focused on subjects like human resources, accounting, and grant writing. The online summer classes start June 15.
