Coronavirus Concerns Close Campgrounds, Picnic Areas In Los Padres National Forest

The coronavirus crisis has led to the closure of all campgrounds, and picnic areas in the Los Padres National Forest. It’s part of a statewide shutdown. All developed recreation areas have been closed in national forests statewide.

The intent is to comply with the state’s social distancing orders, which prohibits things like group picnics. The closures are set to remain in place through April 30th. However, the Los Padres National Forest itself remains open, and hikers can still use its trail system.
