An autopsy is pending on a Central Coast jail inmate who died in custody. Gregory Trujillo was arrested Monday afternoon in Nipomo on a DUI charge. The 62 year old man was taken to a hospital for a blood draw and examination, and then booked at the San Luis Obispo County Jail.
At about eight Monday night, a fellow inmate in a holding cell reported that there was something wrong with the Nipomo man.
Efforts to revive Trujillo were unsuccessful. Foul play is not suspected.
