Ventura, Los Angeles County Congressional Seat Which Is Up For Grabs Focus Of Debate

Plans have been announced for a debate for what is expected to be a hotly contested congressional seat serving parts of Ventura and Los Angeles Counties. The League of Women Voters is sponsoring the event at Santa Susana High School, which is focused on the 25th District Congressional race.

The seat is the subject of a special election.

Democratic Katie Hill upset Republican incumbent Steve Knight in 2018. But, she resigned last year amid allegations that she had an improper relationship with a staff member.

Seven candidates have confirmed they will take part in the January 25th debate. However, two of the highest profile candidates, Steve Knight and Democrat Christy Smith, say they will not be able to participate due to scheduling conflicts.
