Ventura County Dental Worker Charged With Writing Forged Prescriptions For Herself

Ventura County Sheriff’s detectives say they’ve arrested a dental office employee who was taking advantage of her job to write prescriptions for painkillers for herself. Investigators say they received information that Kristina Vargas of Port Hueneme might be fraudulently using information from the dentist’s office to get Soma. It’s a sedative which can in some dosages create an almost euphoric side effect.

They say the discovered that she had written nearly a dozen fraudulent prescriptions during a 15 month long period. The 34 year old woman was arrested on multiple charges, including obtaining a controlled substance by fraud, and forgery.
