Latest Storm To Hit Central, South Coasts Weaker Than Expected

A low pressure system which has been working its way south off the West Coast is bringing rain and some snowfall to the Central and South Coasts.

The system is turning out to be weaker than expected, so there are no warnings or watches for flooding issues in the region ‘s brush fire burn zones.

By the time the system leaves the area Monday night, we could see a quarter of an inch to an inch of rain in Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo Counties.  Between a quarter of an inch, and a half inch of rain is predicted for Ventura County.

Two to eight inches of snow is possible in the area’s mountains, with the snow level dropping to 2500 feet in spots.  Dry weather is expected for New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.
