Two Women Murdered On South Coast; Suspect Behind Bars

A Ventura County man is behind bars, accused of murdering two women. Ventura County Sheriff’s deputies were called to a home in Oak View just before noon Saturday by reports of a woman not breathing. They discovered the bodies of two women in the Valley Ridge Drive home, and determined they had been murdered.

Detectives identified Shawn Shrick of Oak View as a suspect, and arrested him Saturday night. He’s being held at the Ventura County Pre-Trial Detention Facility in lieu of a million dollars bail.

Investigators aren’t talking about a possible motive in the killings. The two victims haven’t been identified yet, but one was a 59 year old Oak View resident, and the other an 82 year old woman from Georgia.
