Authorities Say Body Recovered More Than A Month After Murder In Ventura County

The body of a man believed to have been murdered in Ventura County more than a month ago has been recovered.

Cameron Lykins was arrested May 12th as a suspect in the killing of his roommate, Houston Auer, at their Meiners Oaks home.

Ventura County Sheriff’s detectives say they recovered strong evidence that a murder had occurred in the home, but no body was found.

On June 23rd, a State Fish and Wildlife warden spotted some human remains near Upper Big Tujunga Road in Los Angeles County.

Authorities have confirmed the remains are Auer’s, but the cause of death has yet to be determined. Auer’s body has been brought back to Ventura County, where an autopsy will be performed.
