Funeral services were held Friday for a longtime South Coast leader known for his advocacy for the homeless, and for those with mental health issues.
Neal Andrews served on the Ventura City Council for nearly two decades, championing a number of social services efforts.
Andrews worked in the mental health field for decades. He was elected to the Ventura City Council in 2001, and often fought for programs to help people in need.
He died Sunday, following a long illness. Andrews was 76 years old.
