Big Management Changes In Ventura County DA's Office; Major Retirement, Promotion

There are some major changes in the management of a District Attorney’s office on the South Coast. Cheryl Temple has been appointed as Ventura County’s Chief Assistant District Attorney. She’s been with the office since 1997, and is one of its most experienced homicide prosecutors.

Temple is the county’s prosecutor assigned to the Golden State Killer case.

She will fill the vacancy created by the recent retirement of Michael Schwartz. He worked in the DA’s office for four decades.

Lance Orozco has been News Director of KCLU since 2001, providing award-winning coverage of some of the biggest news events in the region, including the Thomas and Woolsey brush fires, the deadly Montecito debris flow, the Borderline Bar and Grill attack, and Ronald Reagan's funeral.
