Ventura County Gets New Planning Chief

Ventura County has a new director for one of its most important agencies. Dave Ward has been appointed as Ventura County Planning Director.

Ward has more than two decades of planning related experience on the Central and South Coasts, including stints with Santa Barbara County, the City of Ventura, and the City of Agoura Hills.

Ward was selected after a nationwide search. He will oversee the Planning Division, which is responsible for land use issues in unincorporated parts of the county.

He fills the vacancy created by Kim Prillhart’s promotion to County Resource Management Agency Director.

Lance Orozco has been News Director of KCLU since 2001, providing award-winning coverage of some of the biggest news events in the region, including the Thomas and Woolsey brush fires, the deadly Montecito debris flow, the Borderline Bar and Grill attack, and Ronald Reagan's funeral.
