Firefighters have fully contained a brush fire which threatened some structures and burned more than 130 acres of land in Ventura County. The fire started just after noon Sunday off of South Mountain Road. The flames spread quickly through some rugged hills west of Fillmore.

Ventura County firefighters used helicopters and air tankers to stop the spread of the fire. It was fully contained midday Monday.

No structures were damaged by what was called the South Fire. Three firefighters suffered injuries.

Fire investigators say someone doing target practice on private land accidentally triggered the blaze.
