Searchers involved in efforts to find missing Central Coast man

Search efforts have been suspended for a Central Coast man who was reported missing a week ago. Robert Brusstar of Casmalia was last seen June 9th, walking on a trail on the north side of Vandenberg Air Force Base.

When he didn’t show up for work June 11th, his employers called Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s deputies to check on him.

The deputies found the door to his house unlocked, and his keys, wallet, and cell phone inside. A ground and air search was launched. After five days of searching were unsuccessful, a big final effort took place last Sunday, with more than 100 people, ten hours and nine search dogs.

When that effort failed, efforts to find the 68 year old man were suspended. The case has now been turned over to detectives.
