Detectives Say Domestic Dispute In Santa Barbara Ends In Murder

Police are now releasing the details of an incident which started with a panicked 911 call on the South Coast, which led to the discovery of a murder victim.

Santa Barbara Police received the call just before 5 p.m. Tuesday. Dispatchers heard a woman on the phone, crying.

Officers were sent to an apartment complex on South Soledad Street. When they arrived, a man approached them and surrendered. They went into his apartment and found the body of Lilia Munoz.

She had been living with the suspect, who has been identified as Omar Alberto Leon.

The Santa Barbara man has been charged with murder in what detectives think was a case of domestic violence.
