Arrest Made in Connection With Hit And Run On South Coast; Detectives Call It Murder

There’s been an arrest in the hit and run death of a man in Ventura County, but detectives still aren’t talking about a possible motive for what they say was a murder. Michael Holley was struck by a vehicle on Mariposa Street in Oxnard May 23rd. The 31 year old Oxnard man died a short time later. An investigation led detectives to conclude the hit and run was intentional.

They identified Juan De Dios Gallegos III of Oxnard as a suspect. Finding him was easy. He was already in the Ventura County Jail for a parole violation when he was arrested yesterday. The 26 year old man has been charged with murder. Investigators say they’ve found and impounded the vehicle connected to the crime.
