There’s been an arrest in a fatal hit and run accident on the South Coast.
Miguel Gutierrez-Vargas was crossing San Lorenzo Drive near San Felipe Drive in Goleta early Thursday morning when he was struck by a pickup truck, which then fled the scene. Gutierrez-Vargas died at a hospital a short time later.
Based on information from witnesses, they identified Juan Aguilar Perez of Santa Barbara as a suspect. He was arrested Friday morning on manslaughter and hit and run with injury charges.
