An agency which oversees more than 15,000 acres of open space in Ventura County has a new top executive.

The four decade old City of Thousand Oaks agency is charged with protecting the land under its jurisdiction in the Conejo Valley, as well as making it as accessible as possible for the public.

Lance Orozco has been News Director of KCLU since 2001, providing award-winning coverage of some of the biggest news events in the region, including the Thomas and Woolsey brush fires, the deadly Montecito debris flow, the Borderline Bar and Grill attack, and Ronald Reagan's funeral.
