Fatal Hit And Run On South Coast Now Being Called Suspicious

What was first reported to be a fatal hit and run accident on the South Coast is now being investigated as something which may have been intentional. It happened just before 11 Thursday night, on the 2000 block of Mariposa Street in Oxnard.

Police and paramedics called to the scene by a 911 call found a seriously injured man on the street. The 31 year old Oxnard resident died a short time later at a hospital. Oxnard traffic unit investigators called to the scene began investigating it as an accident.

But, after examining physical evidence they determined the death was suspicious, and called in detectives to take over the investigation. The name of the victim hasn’t been released yet.
