Collision Which Killed Man On South Coast Now Being Called A Homicide

Authorities are now calling a hit and run collision on the South Coast which left a man dead a murder.

Oxnard police were called to the intersection of Fifth, and Meta Streets early on the morning of September 23rd by reports of a collision. They found Jorge Tejeda lying in the street. He died a short time later at a hospital from his injuries.

Detectives say their investigation showed Tejada had been involved in some type of a confrontation minutes before he was hit by an SUV. They determined he was struck by the vehicle intentionally.

They white Jeep involved in the accident fled the scene. It was recovered, but a driver hasn’t been identified yet.
