Nation's Largest Cycling Event Returns To Central, South Coasts

The nation’s largest cycling event kicks off this weekend, and it once again includes events on the Central and South Coasts. The Amgen Tour of California features seven days of competition, covering 777 miles of the state. Some of the world’s top cycling professionals are take part.

On Wednesday, Stage Four of the men’s race will take cyclists from the Monterey area to Morro Bay. Then, on Thursday Stage Five starts in Pismo Beach, and takes competitors 136 miles to Ventura.

Meanwhile, there is a three stage race for women, with the first stage taking place in Ventura also Thursday.
