A man who fell from a cliff while attending a party on the South Coast has been rescued by first responders.
Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s officials say its deputies and UCSB Police officers responded to the 6700 block of Del Playa Drive in Isla Vista on Saturday around 11:30 pm. They found a 20-year-old man from Sacramento on the beach below with a crowd around him.
Investigators say while he was at a party, he lost his balance on the cliff and slid part of the way down before falling onto the beach. Witnesses pulled him out of the surf and brought him to the cove until first responders arrived. Firefighters used a rope to hoist the man back to the top of the cliff.
He was rushed to a hospital and is expected to survive his injuries. Alcohol is believed to be a factor.
