Memorial Service Set For Ventura County Search And Rescue Team Member Killed In Accident

Plans have been announced for a memorial service for a Ventura County Search and Rescue team member who died during a training mission.

Jeff Dye was struck and killed by a vehicle last Saturday after he and other team members stopped to help a car accident victim on I-5 near Lake Pyramid.

The highway was slick because of rain, and an out of control vehicle skidded into the rescue operation.  Dye was killed, and three members of the Ventura County SAR team were hurt, as were two Los Angeles County paramedics.

Dye’s memorial service will take place at 11 a.m. Friday at Calvary Community Church in Westlake Village.
