A Ventura County man is accused of molesting two girls he met through his Newbury Park church.
Ventura County Sheriff’s detectives say a 16 year old girl reported that she had been molested for six years when she was between five and 11 years old.
As detectives began investigating the report, they say they identified a second victim, a now-24-year-old woman who reported being molested by the same man as a child.
The investigators turned the case over to the Ventura County DA’s office.
That led to the arrest of 69 year old Steven Skyler Abbott of Thousand Oaks on four child sex abuse charges.
