A man who was in a Ventura County Jail facility on burglary, and vandalism charges is now also accused of murder.
Ventura County Sheriff’s detectives say Vu Cong Dao attacked, and fatally injured Michael Torres October 25th at the county’s Pre-Trial detention facility. The two were cellmates.
Deputies discovered Torres was unconscious in the cell, and efforts to revive him were unsuccessful.
Investigators say an autopsy indicated the 61 year old Oxnard man died as result of a beating.
