Jail Inmate Who Died In Ventura County Now Being Identified

A Ventura County jail inmate who died in custody is now being identified.

On Wednesday morning, deputies at the county’s Pre-Trial detention facility noticed that Jose Magallon was unresponsive, and wasn’t breathing. The deputies, and jail medical staff started performing CPR. Paramedics were also called, but efforts to revive the 37 year old Camarillo man were unsuccessful.

County jail officials say there were no signs of violence, or suspicious circumstances.

An autopsy is pending.
