Wind, Low Humidity Create Elevated Brush Fire Danger For Parts Of Ventura, LA Counties

Wind gusts in the Conejo Valley midday Wednesday blowing branches in a tree

A Red Flag warning for potential dangerous brush fire conditions is in effect for parts of Ventura and Los Angeles Counties for most of Wednesday.

Wind in the 30 to 50 mile an hour range is possible, with humidity dropping from 5% to 15% in some areas of the region.

The wind is expected to ease slightly Wednesday night,  with the Red Flag warning for Ventura County’s mountains and valleys set to expire at 6 p.m.

However, National Weather Service meteorologists caution we can see elevated brush fire danger in the region through at least Friday.
