New Sheriff's Station On South Coast Could Be On School Campus

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office could soon have a new mini-station on the South Coast. The Montecito Union School District is offering the law enforcement agency free use of an office at its San Ysidro Road campus.

The five year deal is valued at more than $22,000 dollars.

The proposal calls for the Sheriff’s Office to have use of a 150 square foot space. The idea is that it would improve safety on the campus, as well as in Montecito.

Santa Barbara County Supervisors will consider the proposal when they meet Tuesday.
