Governor Signs Bill By Ventura County Assemblywoman Intended To Reduce Workplace Sexual Harassment

The governor has signed into law a bill by a Ventura County legislator intended to reduce sexual harassment in the workplace.

AB 2770 provides former employers some protections against lawsuits if they speak to a prospective new employer about a worker who was responsible for sexual harassment. It also provides some new legal protections for victims of sexual harassment against lawsuits.

Democratic Assemblywoman Jacqui Irwin of Thousand Oaks says her bill is intended to help prevent someone responsible for sexual harassment from being hired by another place which doesn’t know the person’s backstory.
