Initial Tests For Ocean Water Discoloration In Oxnard Area Complete; Nothing Harmful To Humans Found

Officials say they still don’t know what’s led to some ocean water discoloration in the Oxnard area, but say initial tests show there is nothing hazardous in the water for humans.

City of Oxnard officials say bacteriological tests show there the water is clear of coliform and E. Coli, things usually associated with sewage issues. But, other test results for nutrients which might cause algae growth are still incomplete.

Residents and visitors to the Channel Islands Harbor area first noticed water had a dirty brown color to it about two weeks ago.
