The CHP is trying to determine what led to a head-on traffic accident in eastern Santa Barbara County which left two people dead and a third seriously injured.
A car and a tanker truck collided on Highway 166 in the New Cuyama area. A man and a woman in the car were pronounced dead at the scene of the Sunday afternoon accident.
The tanker truck driver was flown to Santa Barbara for treatment of his injuries.
